Optimization Scheme of AFFF Formulation System (Based on 1158 Amphoteric Fluorocarbon Surfactant)

Formulation Composition (Mass Percentage, Total 100%)

  • 1158 Amphoteric Fluorocarbon Surfactant: 1.2% (Core component, dominating surface tension regulation and water film formation; replaces traditional long-chain fluorocarbons with low fluorine content and high efficiency)

  • Hydrocarbon Surfactant (Compound):

    • Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS, Anionic): 3.0% (Improves foaming capacity and enhances initial foam coverage effect)

    • Alkyl Polyglycoside APG0810 (Non-ionic): 5.0% (Strengthens foam stabilization performance, improves foam toughness, environmentally friendly and easily degradable)

  • Foam Stabilizer & Rheological Additive:

    • Xanthan Gum: 0.2% (Thickens and stabilizes foam, prevents rapid foam drainage, and improves fire resistance)

    • Triethanolamine: 0.3% (Adjusts pH value to a stable range, assists foam stabilization and enhances formulation compatibility)

  • Cosolvent & Antifreeze Agent:

    • Ethylene Glycol: 6.0% (Functions as both cosolvent and antifreeze; ensures no freezing at -20℃ and improves low-temperature stability)

    • n-Butanol: 1.5% (Auxiliary cosolvent, improves low-temperature fluidity of the formulation and avoids delamination at low temperature)

  • Functional Additives:

    • EDTA-2Na: 0.1% (Chelates metal ions, prevents formulation delamination and precipitation, and improves system stability)

    • Sodium Benzoate: 0.1% (Antiseptic and bacteriostatic, extends product shelf life and avoids degradation under high temperature)

    • Sodium Dihydrogen Phosphate: 0.2% (Buffers pH value, inhibits hydrolysis of surfactants and guarantees long-term stability of the formulation)

  • Deionized Water: Balance (82.1%, serves as the formulation carrier to ensure uniform dispersion of all components)

2. Key Performance Indicators (Measured up to Standard, Complying with National Standards and Industry Requirements)

  • Surface Tension: ≤22 mN/m (Spreads and forms film rapidly to improve fire extinguishing efficiency)

  • Foaming Multiple: ≥25 times (Sufficient foam with wide coverage area)

  • 25% Drainage Time: ≥8 min (High foam stability and not easy to rupture)

  • Burn Resistance Time: ≥15 min (Excellent re-ignition resistance, suitable for high-risk scenarios)

  • pH Value: 7.0±0.5 (Stable system and inhibited hydrolysis)

  • Low-temperature Stability: No delamination or precipitation after 7 days storage at -20℃ (Adaptable to extreme low-temperature environments)

  • Fire Extinguishing Performance: Can quickly put out 93# gasoline fire (Grade A); fire extinguishing time ≤30 s without re-ignition (High fire extinguishing efficiency, meeting the demands of high-risk scenarios)

  • Environmental Performance: Biodegradation rate ≥60%, free of PFOS/PFOA, complying with environmental protection standards

  • Shelf Life: ≥2 years under normal temperature storage (Stable performance and reduced storage loss)
